Grant Hopping, M.D.

As a native Houstonian, Dr. Grant Hopping grew up in Friendswood, TX, graduating with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University. He served as a High School Biology Teacher in Houston’s Fifth Ward before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. His postgraduate training consisted of an Integrated Internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital and an Ophthalmology Residency at the prestigious New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in New York City. Before joining Eye Center of Texas, he served as a supervising attending physician at Elmhurst Hospital in Queens providing comprehensive ophthalmic care for a multicultural, underserved patient population and educating ophthalmology residents in clinic and surgery.

Dr. Hopping has extensive research experience, with over twenty-five publications and presentations in peer-reviewed journals and other media. His research covers a range of topics, including neuro-ophthalmic pathology, corneal and anterior segment disease, and refractive surgery techniques. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive ophthalmic care to diverse patient populations and utilizes his knowledge of medical Spanish to educate and treat his patients effectively.
